Mumia Abu Jamal and Prison Systems, Do's & Don'ts of Donating to Goodwill

July 17, 2013 - This week on Rise Up! We bring you a 10-year retrospective with Mumia Abu Jamal, a political prisoner in the U.S. who is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted of murdering a police officer in Philadelphia in 1981 in a trial many considered to be unfair. Since being incarcerated, Abu Jamal has been an outspoken critic of the prison industrial complex and one of the most powerful voices to call for the abolition of the prison system altogether. For the second half of the show, we chat with Dale Monaghan, CEO of Goodwill Industries of Alberta in Edmonton about the do's and don'ts of donating furniture.
